Syrian T72-M1
The diorama is inspired by a Syrian media report featuring a female crew of a T-72 M1 from the 7th Armoured Division of the Republican Guard. The idea was to reproduce the tank which is an old T-72 M1 that has suffered not only damage due to combast but also a series of simple improvements designed to improve its protection, making it a device with a very operational appearance.
The old M1 Revell kit (still one of the better on the market) has been used and was modified and improved. As can be seen on the picture of the real tank, it was an export version, that perfectly corespond to the revel kit (4 anchor plot instead of 8). The most complicated part was to remove the side skirts and mudguards and to re-make them, allowing to reproduce a damaged T 72. new mud guards are made of aluminium sheet and plastic card, as well as some of the tanks and boxes originating from the Ace kits.
The suspension has been adapted to fit the ground. The sandbags on the turret are carved in green stuff. those present on the chassis will be added after painting.
